Archiving Policy
The management of International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research & Reviews ( IJMRR) recommends digital archiving for long term preservation, accessibility and usefulness of published data / works.
Principles of Archiving
(i) Objectives of Archiving: The objective of digital archiving is to preserve and protect all published works for long-term with the help of sustainable archiving Policy.
(ii) Intellectual Property Rights: Access to the digital collections should be in accordance with intellectual property rights of authors and necessary consent.
(iii) Authentication: Make sure that unaltered information and the authentic data is preserved.
Challenges for Digital Archiving
(i) There are different technological aspects like hardware, system software, applications and storage media.
(ii) Limitation in metadata may restrict information accuracy. Furthermore, incompetancy to verify the information may lead to inadequacy of contextual information.
(iii)The Infrastructure required to store digital database are usually less stable and may lead to inaccessiblity after few years of timeline.
(iv) Software incompatibility of files according to their format.
(v)Digital records may be damaged due to fire, earthquake, flood, system failures, virus attack on database and systems.
(vi) In spite of well protected digital database, it may cause identification challenges for users.
(vii) Change of abstracting and indexing can lead the published work to defunct, digital preservation retains the work available.
Self-Archiving Rights
Author(s) of published articles may self-archive the accepted (peer-reviewed) and online version of the article at any time.
The journal grants author(s) to archive their articles in open access repositories such as
● Author's personal website
● Author's institutional repository
● Archive in an non-profit subject-based servers or repositories.
