Abstract

This study conducts a cost-benefit analysis to assess the feasibility of switching from air freight to sea freight at Wind Power Ltd, focusing on optimizing logistics costs, lead time, and operational efficiency. The aim is to evaluate potential savings, identify key operational differences, and determine whether the transition would provide a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to air freight. Primary data was collected through surveys and interviews with 150 employees involved in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management. Secondary data from internal shipping records and industry reports supplemented this collection. The analysis compares transportation costs, delivery reliability, and customer satisfaction across both freight modes. The results reveal that while sea freight offers significant cost savings, it is associated with longer lead times and occasional service delays. The findings suggest that switching to sea freight could provide long-term cost efficiency, particularly for non-urgent shipments, but requires process adjustments to accommodate longer transit times.

Abstract

In an era dominated by technological innovation and global competition, logistics has emerged as the cornerstone of business success. Technology adoption in logistics operations enhances visibility, accuracy, and speed, transforming traditional supply chain models into agile, data-driven systems. This study, conducted at Safexpress — India’s leading supply chain and logistics company — examines how technologies such as the Warehouse Management System (WMS), Transportation Management System (TMS), Global Positioning System (GPS), and the proprietary software Propel influence logistics efficiency. Using both primary and secondary data, the study explores the relationship between technology adoption, operational performance, and employee adaptability. Findings indicate that technology has significantly reduced paperwork, improved route planning, and enhanced inventory management while saving substantial operational time. However, challenges such as system downtime, lack of training, and complex interfaces persist.

Abstract

Working capital represents a firm’s net investment in current assets necessary for daily business operations. It is formally calculated as the difference between current assets and current liabilities, indicating a company’s short-term financial health and operational efficiency. Also known as circulating capital, it constantly changes from within a business cycle. Working capital evaluation depends on factors such as business nature, seasonal fluctuations, production policies, market conditions, and supply chain dynamics. Metrics like the cash conversion cycle (CCC) and return on capital (ROC) help assess cash flow efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Proper management of working capital enhances firm value, reduces financial risk, and ensures smooth business operations.

Abstract

This study analyses the relationship between liquidity management and profitability at Sunraja Oil Industries Pvt. Ltd., a key regional player in India's competitive edible oil industry. Using an analytical research design based on financial data spanning 2020–2024, the study evaluates the company’s short-term solvency, operational efficiency, and capital management. The findings indicate that Sunraja has demonstrated inconsistent working capital management, with the Current Ratio frequently falling below the recommended industry benchmark of 2:1 during the study period. Specifically, liquidity pressure was noted in 2022 and 2024, attributed to rising trade payables, slower inventory turnover, and delayed customer receivables. A clear correlation was established: efficient working capital management directly correlates with improved profit margins, while weak liquidity control, driven by high raw material costs and slow receivable collections, inversely impacted the Net Profit Margin. Recommendations focus on implementing stricter credit control, utilizing modern inventory techniques (like EOQ/ABC analysis), and optimizing the payables strategy to improve cash conversion cycles and ensure sustained financial growth.

Abstract

The study titled “Integrated Logistics Cost Analysis and Optimization: A Data-Driven Study of Revathi Equipment India Ltd.” investigates the significance of logistics cost management in enhancing operational efficiency and profitability within the manufacturing sector. Logistics is a critical function that bridges production and customer delivery, and its cost efficiency determines the overall competitiveness of an organization. The research primarily focuses on identifying key cost determinants—such as trip volume, vehicle type, distance travelled, and fleet utilization—and evaluates their influence on total logistics expenditure.
Using secondary data collected from the logistics department of Revathi Equipment India Ltd. for the financial year 2023–2024, the study applies various statistical tools, including correlation, ANOVA, and regression analysis, to examine cost behaviour and operational trends. The results indicate a strong positive correlation between distance and total cost (r = 0.87) and a significant variation in cost across different vehicle types (p < 0.01). Seasonal trends reveal fluctuating cost patterns, peaking during high-demand months. The research concludes that through data-driven decision-making, preventive maintenance programs, and route optimization strategies, the company can achieve a 10–12% reduction in annual logistics costs. The study emphasizes that integrating data analytics into logistics operations enhances cost predictability, improves vehicle utilization, and contributes to sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic digital transformation initiative at Adithya Aqua Tech Solutions (AATS), a mid-sized Indian aqua-tech manufacturer, focusing on integrating its Tally accounting system with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. The primary goal was to bolster financial resilience the ability to withstand shocks and ensure continuity by modernizing finance operations. Quantitative analysis of financial statements (FY 2020–2024) reveals the profound impact of this integration. Post-cloud implementation, the Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) increased significantly from a low of 8.11% to 15.05%, and the Inventory Turnover Ratio (ITR) nearly quadrupled from 0.99 to 3.12 times, demonstrating superior operational efficiency and capital usage. Furthermore, the Cash Ratio, a key liquidity measure, rose from 0.13 to 0.51. Despite these massive efficiency gains, financial forecasting projects a massive Net Income Proxy loss (up to -₹2.05 Cr by 2026) if the current trend of Operating Expenses, particularly Salaries, continues to outpace relatively flat revenue growth. Key recommendations include implementing Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) to curb OpEx growth and strategically deploying strong current liquidity to finance high-return sales channels.

Abstract

This study examines the adoption of telematics systems among leading commercial vehicle manufacturers in India, exploring drivers, implementation strategies, perceived benefits, and barriers to uptake. Drawing on a mixed-methods approach combining a survey of senior executives and product/manufacturing managers across major OEMs with semi-structured interviews and case studies of early adopters the research maps the current deployment landscape and strategic motives behind telematics integration. Key areas of investigation include technology readiness, product–service bundle design, regulatory and market influences, cost benefit perceptions, data-management practices, and partnerships with telematics service providers. However, adoption is uneven: small- and mid-sized OEMs face capital constraints, limited in-house analytics capability, and concerns about data ownership and cybersecurity. Market factors notably increasing demand from large fleet operators, rising fuel-cost sensitivities, and nascent regulatory emphasis on vehicle telematics are accelerating interest but not uniformly translating into full-scale integration.

Abstract

This study focuses on analysing the working capital management of Lakshmi Mills Company Limited, Kovilpatti, a leading textile manufacturer in South India. The research aims to evaluate the efficiency of managing current assets and liabilities and their impact on the company’s liquidity and profitability. The study uses secondary data from annual reports and financial statements for a five-year period, employing tools such as ratio analysis, trend analysis, and comparative statements. Findings reveal fluctuating trends in liquidity ratios, with declining current and quick ratios indicating insufficient short-term solvency. The company shows moderate performance in inventory and asset turnover, but profitability ratios reflect a downward trend in recent years. The analysis highlights that improper control of receivables and high current liabilities have strained liquidity. However, efficient cash and inventory management during certain years improved operational performance. The study suggests adopting tighter credit policies, modernizing production processes, and enhancing financial planning for better working capital utilization. Overall, the research emphasizes that effective working capital management is essential for sustaining financial stability and ensuring long-term profitability in the textile sector.
